Construction Site Runoff Control

MCM 4: Construction Site Runoff Control (CSRC)

Polluted stormwater runoff from active construction sites can contribute more sediment to streams than that which naturally occurs over several decades. Sedimentation reduces the amount of sunlight reaching aquatic plants, clogs fish gills, and smothers aquatic habitat. In addition stormwater flows from construction sites can carry a variety of chemicals, metals, and biological agents.

The township works side by side with Lancaster County Conservation District Erosion & Sedimentation technicians to prevent construction site stormwater runoff from polluting our local waterways.

If you notice construction site-runoff during rain events, please call the Township 717-464-8019.

If you would like more information on Erosion & Sedimentation Control explore the Lancaster County Conservation District website.
